Moving to Tucson? Start here.
Six communities, one honest guide, and a local who'll walk you through homes on video before you ever book a flight.
What newcomers ask first.
The heat
Summer highs regularly top 100°F, and the July-to-September monsoon brings dramatic afternoon storms. Fall through spring is why people move here. Pools, shade and a good AC system matter more than you'd think.
Time zone
Most of Arizona, Tucson included, stays on Mountain Standard Time year-round. No clock changes.
Getting around
Tucson is a driving city. Oracle Road, I-10 and Tanque Verde-Grant get you most places, and Tucson International Airport is on the south side.
Utilities
Water depends on where you live (Tucson Water, Oro Valley Water Utility or others), with electricity mostly from Tucson Electric Power and gas from Southwest Gas. The kit has the list by town.

Relocation questions.
The quick version.
Which Tucson-area community should I move to?
It depends on how you spend your days. Oro Valley and the Catalina Foothills are popular for mountain views and trails, Marana and Vail for newer homes and more space, central Tucson for character and walkability, and Green Valley for golf and single-level living. The neighborhood quiz is a quick way to narrow it down.
How hot does it get in Tucson?
Summers are hot, with highs often over 100°F in June and July, followed by monsoon storms in summer. Fall through spring is the payoff, with mild, sunny days. Higher-elevation spots like Mount Lemmon are a quick escape.
